Too Many Toys....
Too Little Space. The Playroom received an update last week to clear some floor space for the boys to actually have room to play. These pictures are taken on my iPhone so they are not of the best quality, but they will do!

L-O-V-E
Just 1 day shy of 17 months, Tucker said "wuv you" this morning as he was leaving for school with his Daddy. My heart is beaming! Love you too, Tucker Shea!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!! Even though it is a commercial holiday, it is always nice to spread the love!!!!
Disney on Ice
Last Saturday we took the boys, Nina and Gramps to see Disney on Ice. I got tickets for $15 each from CertifiKid and they end up being great seats. Dead center! I knew Cooper would love the show - which he did! To our surprise the show captured Tucker's attention for 90% of it until he fell asleep. He was clapping and yelling "Yea" throughout the entire show. Very cute!
Cooper's favorite part was Mickey. When it was over he asked his Daddy if we could go visit Mickey's house in Florida. I think Disneyland is in the near future! Which makes this Momma very happy!

Week 6 of 52
The pickings were slim this week....
Tucker following in his big brother's foot steps. He loves books! His new trick is clearing the entire book case in less than 6 seconds flat. Yep, Corey and I have a blast picking up 200+ books 2-3 times a night.
Huddled behind the couch together playing the Explorer and Gramp's phone.
Cooper being extra goofy at breakfast time with his raspberries. He can put down an entire container of raspberries in one sitting if I would let him.

New Vocabulary
Tucker is still very quiet, bashful and doesn't say much - except for his massive tantrums. HeHe! However, this week he did surprise us with a bunch of new words - Milk, Aaron, Off, Yes, Basketball, Baseball, and Hi.
Temper Tantrums
Tucker is the king of temper tantrums. He wants everything now! If he doesn't get it when he wants it he has the melt down of all melt downs. For example, if his dinner is not on the table waiting for him when he gets home, he explodes. This is a little difficult to avoid when you have two working parents. Ugh! I am so over it!
I Googled 17 months old and temper tantrums and found that this is a very common issue for toddlers at this age. I guess I forgotten how Cooper went through this stage or maybe he wasn't this bad or maybe I had more patience back then - not sure which one is the correct answer. One of the articles suggested I simply ignore the tantrum and he will learn that this does not get him what he wants. This sounds a lot easier than I am sure it actually is. They have not heard/seen Tucker scream, hold his breath, kick, throw his body on the floor like a wet rag, slap his big brother, or get destructive - yes this list could go on.
So, tonight I am going to try it - ignore Tucker's tantrums, not pick him up every time he wants to be held or carried around. I am sure I will be ready to pull my hair out by the end of the night or have a extra large glass of wine. Oh, the joys of parenting!

Cooper had a great day at school yesterday - Woo Hoo!!! He only had two minor breaks for running in the classroom. The way I see it he is three and three year olds run. Keeping my fingers crossed today is another check day!

Tuesday Rant
I stumbled upon a great blog today called Momastery thanks to one of my neighbor's Facebook posts. I really loved a particular paragraph in today's article and felt like she was describing me. And I needed to hear it!
We are still having behavior issues with Cooper at school. It's becoming very draining on Corey and I. We have tried everything - reward system, positive reinforcement, punishments, breaks, taking away things - see I said everything! His teacher's are now keeping a daily journal on him so we can discuss each "not doing what works" event with him, but unfortunately this is to no avail either. Now he seems to think it is funny when he has bad days or as we call them "big fat X days". Cooper is a very gifted little boy with high energy who needs to be constantly challenged and lots of structure. We are starting to think his current school, teachers and curriculum (well lack of curriculum these days) are no longer a fit for him and therefore we need to look for a new school. I am not excited about this idea - it's a lot of work finding the right school for your kids and frankly I don't have a lot of time right now with everything going on in our life and work. But, as a Mom it is my job and so I need to suck it up. We have an interview with a new school on Friday so hopefully everything falls into place as it should be.
I took Tucker back to the ENT yesterday. He has has a double ear infection for the past 8 days and the antibiotic/steroid ear drops haven't made a dent of improvement. The ENT was very frazzled to see Tucker's condition and stated something just wasn't normal. ARGH!!!! Granted I have been describing how Tucker's ears and drainage look like when he has an infection to the ENT for the past 10 months. I was so irritated by head almost blew off! He took a culture from both ears to see if the infection will come back abnormal (aka - MRSA). If it comes back normal then we will be scheduling to have his adenoids removed in the next two weeks. As the ENT put it enough is enough! Really only took him 10 months to understand what we have been saying all along. And yes, we did get a second option a while ago and was told our children are the 1% who have tubes and still get ear infections. I find doctors and their record keeping very aggravating since I had kids. Then again, I didn't visit doctors every other week before having kids so I guess I am just more aware now.
So back to that paragraph, I am going to tailor it a little bit....
"I’m just A LOT to deal with on a daily basis. And I know this. I do not cruise through life. I sort of crash through life. But I also “WOW” through life, too. And so it’s okay. I’ll take the lows with the highs. Basically, I really like myself. And I think I’m an awesome mom. God chose ME for these kiddos and He knows me better than anyone, so I’m gonna be myself. My kids don’t need some fake idea of a perfect mom, they need me -AJ, the real person. I get that."

Crossing Your Feet
Cousins
