Weekend at Maw Maw's

This past weekend we headed to West Virginia for a visit with Maw Maw, Nana and Gramps.

Saturday night Corey and I headed out on the town for our first date/night out since Cooper was born. Nana and Gramps baby sat for us - MawMaw went to bingo. Thanks Nana & Gramps!!!!

We have wanted to see the Hullabahoos in concert for some time now (8 years to be exact) and it just happened that they were having their fall concert Saturday night - our date night. So we headed to C'ville which is fitting since that's were we became husband and wife. We had dinner at Bonefish (we haven't eaten there since before I was prego - which we can't remember why since it is our favorite) and McLeod Hall to see Hullabahoos. It was an awesome night! We love Cooper and wouldn't change our lives, but it was definitely nice to be husband and wife for a night instead of Mommy and Daddy.

While we were on our date night Aunt Debbie and Uncle Gary stopped by for a visit with Cooper, Nana and Gramps.

Fall Festival w/ the Kiddies

We had a blast at Cox Farms Fall Festival yesterday! There were slides, hay tunnels, penny pit, pumpkin idol, kettle corn, rope swings, goats, pigs, cows, horses, etc. Awesome! Awesome!

Cooper's 4 Months Old Today

Cooper is 4 months old today!

Corey took Cooper for his 4 month wellness check up.
Here's his 4 month stats:
Weight - 17 lbs 5 oz
Height - 26 in
Head - 17 in

Cooper also received his second Rotavirus and DTAP shots. Again, he did not cry!

Cooper has had some congestion and rattling in his chest for some time now. We have tried the cool mist humidifier, vapor rub, antibiotics, etc. You name it we have tried it - nothing has work thus far. So, the pediatrician wants to try a nebulizer and albuterol on an as needed basis. The pediatrician's diagnosis for right now is allergies. She says he is too young for his symptoms to be diagnosed as asthma. Let's keep our fingers crossed this works!

We also have noticed with the congestion Cooper has started spitting up more. Dr. Williams thinks this is because his acid reflux is getting worse and therefore prescribed zantac.

So he got his looks from Corey and his medical issues from me! Wonderful!

Side note, while I was typing this post Cooper rolled from his tummy to his back. He has been rolling over from his back to his stomach - so this is a first! Yeah!

For the past two nights Cooper has slept through the entire night! Whoop! Whoop!
I don't know how to act now that I am getting 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep...

Six Little Ducks

Corey and I are in awe of Cooper again...

We received the Fisher Price Infant/Toddler seat as a baby shower gift from two of my coworkers.

(The above picture is from the ToysRUs website - this is not Cooper.) As you may have noticed Cooper loves this chair and sits in it alot! Many of the pictures posted to the blog he is sitting in it. When you pull the handle on the umbrella it plays the tune "6 Little Ducks". When Cooper sits in the seat I pull the handle and sing "6 Little Ducks" to him. If you are not sure of the lyrics here they are-

6 Little Ducks that I once knew; fat ones, fair ones, thin ones too.

But the one little duck with the feather on his back,

He led the others with a Quack, Quack, Quack.

Last night Cooper was sitting in his chair and like always I pulled the umbrella handle a couple of times and sang to him. He started batting the elephants so I began to watch tv and eat my pizza. Corey was down in the basement putting together Cooper's Sesame Street Exerciser. A few minutes went by and all of a sudden I started hearing the tune to "6 Little Ducks". I looked down at Cooper to see him turning his head in a 90 degree angle so he could see me. He had the biggest smile on his face as to say look what I just did mommy! I was in disbelief! I ran down stairs to tell Corey, who gave me the yeah right look and told me to catch it on video. So, I ran upstairs grabbed the video camera and began tapping. Every time the music would stop Cooper would pull the umbrella handle and start the music again! I caught him doing this 4 different times in less than two minutes on video.

I ran downstairs showed Corey the video which he was in shock just like me. We both had very big smiles on our faces - definitely a very proud parent moment! Then we were in awe of how big and smart he is getting. Wasn't he just born yesterday??

By the time Corey and I got back upstairs Cooper was fast asleep in his seat. Pulling the umbrella handle to hear Six Little Ducks is hard work!

I am going to try my best to get the video on the blog in the very near future.

UVA v. UNC - Part 2: The Game

It was chilly, but we were ready to cheer on the Hoos!

The first 3 quarters were a snore/bore fest. Nana & Cooper were really asleep while Gramps was just pretending for the picture!

4th Quarter - The team finally woke up and decided to play some football. So did Nana and Cooper - wake up that is!

The crowd rushed the field after our 16-13 win in Over Time!

Cutting veggies for the salad. Every now and then I put down the camera or Cooper to help with the tailgating preparations.

Nana & Gramps traded in their blue and gold for the day to cheer on the Hoos & see Cooper! We were shocked when they got out of the car dressed in orange and blue! Way to go Nana & Gramps!

Jeanie & Lee were the chefs for the day in Bob & Jackie's absence. We had delicious steak & cheese hoagies!

Milestone Alert!!!

Cooper ROLLED OVER!!!

Last night while Cooper was laying on his back playing with his Fisher Price Songs & Smiles Discovery Gym he ROLLED OVER! I think he shocked himself because when he landed on his stomach he jumped and immediately rolled back to his side. We thought it was a fluke until this morning he did again! He assumed the turtle position after he rolled over and gave me a big accomplish filled smile!

I am soooo proud of Cooper! It really is the little things that mean the most in life and put things into perspective!

We started Cooper on rice cereal yesterday. As you can see in the pictures below he loved it! There was only one issue - he loved it so much that we could not shovel it in fast enough before he would get angry!


We also caught his first feeding on video - hopefully Corey will get a chance to edit it so we can post it on the blog...
