It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Day

Nap time and bed time are Tucker's favorite times of the day!  The routine for night time goes a little something like this:
1) I ask Tucker are you ready for bed and he shakes his head up and down.  I say well go get your blankie and binky and give kisses. 
2) He then proceeds to go get his blankie, binky and give Corey a kiss (sometimes with a little tongue). 
3) He then goes to Cooper points and yells Bub Bub. 
4) Cooper then kisses him on the head (Tucker drools too much for his liking and gives "yucky" kisses this is according to Cooper who was the king of drool at this age) and says I love you Tucker Shea. 
5) And upstairs we go to get him ready for bed.

Well last night when putting Tucker into bed he gave me a little surprise,  he looked up at me with a big toothy smile and says, "Night Night! Night Night!"  He melted his Momma's heart! 

B-A-L-L-S

This is how Tucker insists on riding in the car no matter the length of the trip.  He is absolutely obsessed with balls!  Before you can even get him buckled in his car seat he is screaming "BALL". 

Matching Chairs

Cooper and Tucker have been constantly fighting/wrestling over Cooper's little blue chair (the one on the right).  So, we decided to order another one to resolve the issue.  This was day 1 of the two blue chairs, as you can see they both were very happy having their very own chair.  Well now we have two little blue chairs in the middle of our living room and no body sits in or fights over.  Tucker goes over a points to his and says Tucker and then points to Cooper's and says Bub-Bub - that's about the most action these chairs see these days.  Yep, only a week after being bought and they now prefer to sit on the couch.  Boys 1 / Parents 0. 

Week 3 of 52

The only gift Cooper asked for from Grammy and Poppy for Christmas was his daddy's transformers from when he was a little boy.  Grammy came through after digging in the attic for a couple of hours.  Cooper loves them!  And, Corey loves showing him how they transform and how he played with them when he was little.

Tucker learned how to climb up on our kitchen chairs and then on top of the table.  He is very proud of himself!  This was about the only time we saw him smile the entire week.  He has been an absolute bear with the stomach virus and is cutting an eye tooth and a one year molar.

Week 2 of 52

Cooper wanted to get dressed up for his girlfriend at school.  He's only three and already trying to impress the ladies - gets that from his Uncle Aaron.  Corey picked him up from school that evening and thought it was picture day - haha!

Cooper's Vocabulary

Yesterday morning I asked Cooper to clean up the playroom while I brushed my teeth and got Tucker dressed.  Cooper said okay.  While dressing Tucker I yelled to Cooper if he was done and he said yes.  When I walked into the playroom not one toy had been picked up.  So I lectured Cooper on lying and told him if he didn't pick up his toys very quickly I was going to get irritated with him.  He looks up at me very seriously and says, "Momma do you mean irritated or agitated?  I think you mean agitated."  Ugh, and he is only three!!! 

Lazy Saturday

After a week and a half with a stomach virus running rampant through our house we deserve a lazy Saturday of doing absolutely nothing except watching movies and snuggling.  Hopefully everyone will be on the mend very soon!

Morning Nap...Goodbye!

So Tucker Shea has been giving Auntie a fit with his morning nap since we returned from the holidays. Pretty much refusing it at all possible ways. So yesterday was the first day with no morning nap.  He did great!  Auntie said his afternoon nap was more soundly and on schedule.  Last night, he slept very well and did not stir through the night like usual.  Which means more sleep for me.  So, goodbye morning nap!   Just another milestone we can check off for my big boy!

What is your Mommy and Daddy's job?

Every evening we receive an email from Cooper's school telling us what they did for the day.  So when we saw that the class had drawn pictures of their Mommy and Daddy's jobs, Corey and I were unsure what exactly Cooper would draw.  Half of our family doesn't understand exactly what we do for a living so how was our three year old going to draw it or explain it to the teacher.  Corey guessed he would draw a computer or an airplane for his trips to London.  Since I work from home four days a week I wasn't sure what Cooper would draw - maybe a telephone. 

So here was our dinner conversation -

M: "Cooper, I heard from your teachers today that you drew pictures of Mommy and Daddy's jobs." 

C: "Yes."

D: "So, what did you draw?"

C: "Hehe!!!  Ummmm, I drawed a hammer for Momma. Haha Haha"

M: "A Hammer?  Why did you draw a hammer?"

C:  "Just cause!  I wanted to."

M: "But, Cooper a hammer has nothing to do with Momma's job."

C: "I know but I like to draw hammers"

D: "So, what did you draw for my job?"

C: "Grass and a lawn mower."

D:  "Oh wow!  Why did you draw that?"

C: "Because you like to mow the grass all the time."  Which is so far from the truth!!!  We have a riding mower a Corey still complains about mowing the grass.

So, according to Cooper's art work I believe his teachers and friends think we own a home improvements / lawn mowing business.  I have no idea what he tell's the teachers in his class with his imagination and sense of humor.  Every evening I brace myself for the stories I am going to hear from the teachers.  And the worst part is I know they filter what they tell me. =)

15 Month Stats

Tucker Shea had his 15 month wellness appointment yesterday.  Despite the monthly ear infections he is growing like a weed!  The doctor says we are very lucky because the ear infections and the need to be on oral antibiotics monthly could have impacted his development all around.  Thank goodness this is not the case. Here are my baby's stats:

weight - 25 lbs 3 oz (75% percentile)
height - 33 1/2 inches (99% percentile)
head - 18 1/4 inches (92% percentile)

He is beginning to talk/babble all the time!  Everyday we are starting to hear more and more destinct words - Momma, DaDa, BubBub (Cooper), More, All Done, Bye Bye, Maw Maw, Ball, Boy, Dog, Balloon, and Uh Huh. He loves the telephone and sometimes even answers it if we don't get there first.  He can point to his belly, head and tongue on command. He loves to give kisses, especially with a little tongue! He takes directions and eats with a fork and/or spoon 10 times better than his older brother. His favorite activities are breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, naps, and bed time.  He has the best personality, a streak a meaness, a nasty temper and a smile and dimples that make you forget everything that is wrong with the world.

Let it Snow - Holiday Program

To kick off the holidays Cooper's school had a holiday program for the parents and family members.  Cooper's class sang "Let it Snow".  The picture below is when Cooper first spotted us.  He was very excited because this was the first show his Daddy could attend.  So excited he forgot to sing and his moves!

Here is Cooper and his best friend Jake!  Jake is Cooper's PIC (partner in crime) and "Mom, he likes UVA too". Plus I think he is the only kid in Cooper's class who has more flexible/bendable ears than him.  Hehe!

Nice or Naughty???

Cooper's reaction to his email from Santa telling him if he was on the Nice or Naughty list.  He was very relieved he was on the Nice list and glad "he turned things around at the end and did what worked" - his words not mine.

My Flags Worked....

It's snowing!  Just put them up yesterday afternoon wearing short sleeves in the 68 degree weather in January!  So what it's only a dusty - it's something!

365 Blog....Not Again!!!!

So, I quit my 365 blog last year!  Don't worry I am not going to make the same mistake again.  This year I have decided to do something a little more realistic and achievable.....drum roll please....a 52 blog!  I will post one picture of Cooper and one picture of Tucker each week, hence the name 52 blog.  I try to take pictures of the boys every day, but some days life happens and no pictures are taken. Having a week to take a picture and post gives me a little more breathing room which makes this activity fun again instead of a chore.

I did learn a huge lesson from my 365 blog attempt - I do not like to fail.  Therefore, if I notice that I am on a slippery downward slop with no chance on regaining control then I would just rather quit than fail.  Not one of my best characteristics or a lesson I would like to teach my children - but hey I am human and at least I am being honest with myself and identifying a development area.

So here's to setting realistic expectations and achievable goals in 2012 and the 52 Blog!
